Fire Extinguisher Training : Non-Accredited

Designed for:
Personnel occupying premises equipped with portable fire fighting equipment, e.g. fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reel.

AIMS

To prepare participants to:

  • have knowledge and confidence in fire emergency response.
  • identify on-site fire extinguisher types. 
  • operate portable fire extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels effectively and safely.
  • identify fire hazards in your workplace
  • improve house keeping techniques to reduce the risk of fire
  • employ safe working practices
CONTENT
  • Describe the principles and components of combustion
  • Colour coding of fire extinguishers
  • Properties of extinguishants.
  • Extinguishant / fire compatibility.
  • Hands-on use of extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels.

Duration:  2.0 hours

Site Requirements:
This course is principally designed for delivery at the clients’ premises for maximum group size of 12 persons.
To conduct theory presentation we require a boardroom/classroom with facility to darken room for computer projection. To conduct practical extinguisher use we require an outdoor area no less than fifteen square metres.
Should your work premises not be suitable to light and extinguish fires, alternative premises in Carlisle can be arranged.

Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance outlining the aims and outcomes.
